Happy New Year! No I haven’t gone bonkers yet… it’s Chinese New Year which started on 31st January. Your second chance to stick to any resolutions that you didn’t have success with first time round.  It is considered an important time in the Eastern traditions because it is believed that whatever you do during the first fifteen days of the year will have an impact and influence on the rest of your year.

2014 is the Year of the Wood Horse.  Energy will be high and move along quickly, so saddle up and attend to those goals. The Horse year promises to deliver on your efforts.

Whilst Pluto has been breaking down situations that haven’t been working out, Chiron steps in during February and encourages healing; asking you to see the positive no matter how painful a situation might be right now.

First up on the agenda the trickster, Mercury goes retrograde in the sign of Pisces. Mercury governs communication and travels, so be careful and double check everything. A reminder …that now is a good time to back up your information. Choose your words carefully and be mindful of where you put your stuff. Forgetfulness is common, as the trickster has some fun. People are more sensitive with the Pisces energy. Everyone’s intuition is going to be on ultra high this month so listen to those gut hunches and, then, follow them.

Your social life could see a big boost in February - especially around Valentine’s Day when a Full Moon in Leo will lighten up everyone’s life!  Make a big deal out of it, applaud and appreciate the person you love. Put the spark back into existing relationships and if you’re the creative type, use this energy to finish projects that you have started.

Talking of Chinese, they have their own "Valentine's Day" that always falls on the 15th day of the new year of the Full Moon. Coincidentally that just happens to be on our Valentines day. The North and South nodes shift signs this month for a cosmic tune-up and personal relationships are likely to get a makeover this year.

With the Sun shifting signs it shines a light on people/situations that we may need to be a bit more patient with. There’s lots of Pisces energy going around this month highlighting the need to explore your spiritual side and re-shape your thinking.
